Business Analyst/ Operational Risk Management (banking)

On behalf of our client, a leading bank in Zürich, we are looking for a Business Analyst with good operational risk management experience. For this contract position based in Zurich in Switzerland our client is looking for an English speaking candidate who can start as soon as possible. Role:

  • As part of the Operational Risk Management (ORM) Change team, the primary responsibility is to lead all business analysis activities within key work packages of the ORM Change delivery towards BCBS239 compliance. The individual will be expected to lead the documentation, review, syndication, sign-off, UAT planning, test script reviews and BAU roll-out management as part of the projects set up.
  • Support and engage with ORM stakeholders working on the same Book of Work in Zurich and act as a face-off for stakeholders in the Swiss region across legal entities and divisions and analyse related information if required. This candidate will support with the overall program execution, management and further planning towards 2018 book of work for a portion.
  • Contribute towards the definition and documentation of standardised approaches across relevant work packages. Extrapolating where successful framework and approaches will bring business improvements and benefits. Effective RAID management and closures.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive overall change business analysis, project management support activities:
    • Incidents System and Data Integration and WP08 - Incidents Reporting (RDP / Tableau) work packages, with ORM business, within the overall program governance
  • Liase with the ORM Business, their stakeholders, IT and RFDAR to execute against project plans for those two work packages, manage any risks and issues on a day to day basis by supporting the overall PM, enabling discussions and topics to close on a timely basis
  • Liase with ORM and RFIT technical BA's and testing teams to ensure SIT, UAT are signed-off timely by the ORM business as per milestone plan
  • Coordinate, raise and manage RAID items by working with a large section of business stakeholders across the CRO organisation
  • Coordinate and chair working sessions / workshops to gather business requirements towards work packages and any other packages of work that could impact delivery
  • Maintain consistent documentation standards across the work packages, in line with CRO standards
  • Instigate and facilitate further planning or organisation of these work packages
  • Attend weekly governance calls (design, working group, control etc.)
  • Drive and follow up on analysis tasks and solution designs by working with the supporting BA and IT technical BA's
  • Manage weekly timesheet submissions for any team members reporting into them (OnePPM and any other externally vendor managed timesheet approvals)
  • Drive design, documentation, change request sign-offs during project phase
  • Design and drive management of roll-out to the business and BAU set up / readiness management

Skills:

  • Over 5 years of experience in data management, data analysis and business analysis function
  • Previous experience around Operational Risk Management, Enterprise Risk Management tools and processes
  • Knowledge of operational risk data and processes
  • Previous experience in migrating users to a new platform and/or roll-out of a new system to a large number of users.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Advanced MS Powerpoint skills to provide support with Steering Committee material.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy and timeliness of delivery
  • Effective stakeholder management
  • Independent and able to work with little supervision
  • Ability to communicate successfully, across geography and time-zones
  • Team player, ambitious and focused
  • Financial Services change in risk management and preferably within Investment Banking environment.
  • Track record of defining clear and comprehensive requirements
  • Successful definition of innovative functional and technical solutions
  • Exposure to Legal Entity and Divisional engagement model and stakeholder management within a Risk Function
